March 27,2015-​Clinical care, research, education and awareness are the four pillars to control Diabetes’- Dr. A.G.Unnikrishnan Chellaram Diabetes Hospital to be inaugurated soon. One of a kind diabetes specialty hospital          in Maharashtra. 

The Inauguration of the hospital will be carried out at 11 am , at the hands of the honourable Mayor of Pune, Shree Dattatrey Dhankawade, Noted orthpedician and Padma Vibhushan Awardee Dr KH Sancheti and Mr. La                   L Chellaram, the chairman of the Chellaram Diabetes Hospital to attend.

Large amount of people die in the world because of Diabetes.The main reasonbehind this is lack of awareness.To       prevent diabetes the awareness need to be spread Chellaram Diabetes Institute is inaugurating the first Diabetes       Hospital in Maharashtra with the slimier objective.

“There are about  67 million people with diabetes in India, and  out of that 35 million are undiagnosed. To address  this alarming situation, and also to make an impact globally, the Chellaram Diabetes Hospital aspires to bring  highest quality diabetes care to persons affected by this disease “, says Mr.Lal L.Chellaram ,Chairman of the  Chellarm Diabetes Hospital.Untreated, diabetes leads to complications affecting the heart, kidneys, eyes and the  feet.

However, diabetes can be easily treated with diet, exercise and medications, and complications can be prevented. The Chellaram Diabetes Hospital aims to improve the lives of those affected with diabetes. The hospital uses state of the art glucose management protocols and has painless, needle-free continuous glucose monitoring facilities for inpatient management. There are operation theatres for performing bariatric surgery, diabetic        foot procedures and surgeries- apart from routine surgeries for diabetes.

One of the unique programs initiated by Chelaram Diabetes Institute is their “Outreach Program” through which they are persistently providing free of cost checkups and care services to the villagers on the outskirts of Pune and Ahmadnagar.    So far 37,000 people from 500 villages have got benefited from this program.

This program is consists of a mobile diabetic care unit in which doctors go to various villages from Monday to Friday.This helps them to treat maximum people in reasonable time. The Inauguration of the hospital will be carried out at 11 am,at      the hands of the honourable Mayor of Pune, Shree   Dattatrey Dhankawade, in the presence of eminent orthpaedeician   and Padma Vibhushan Awardee Dr KH Sanchet, Mr Lal L Chellaram, the Chairman of the Chellaram Diabetes Hospital, would be present on the occasion.

During the program, candidates who have undergone the Chellaram Diabetes Institute’s Certificate Program on Diabetes and Cardiovascular Diseases,conducted by the Public health Foundation of India will have a convocation program to receive their certificates.
