TAPMI chosen to be part of PRME CHAMPIONS by UN at WEF, Davos

TAPMI has been selected to be part of a group of only 38 Premium Business Schools from around the globe known as the ‘PRME CHAMPIONS Group’.

Manipal,31st January 2018: TAPMI has been selected to be part of a group of only 38 Premium Business Schools from around the globe known as the ‘PRME CHAMPIONS Group’.

Working through a set of Six Principles, PRME engages businesses and management schools to ensure they provide future leaders with the skills needed to balance economic and sustainability goals while drawing attention to the Sustainable  Development Goals (SDGs) and aligning academic institutions with the work of the UN Global Compact.

 

In July 2017, TAPMI graduated to the status of Advanced Signatory and since the beginning of 2018, TAPMI has been selected      to be part of PRME CHAMPIONS Group. TAPMI will be part of this select group for 2 years (2018 & 19) and will carry out projects with other group members in the area of mainstreaming the Sustainable Development Goals and Sustainable Business Best Practice into curricula, carry out cutting-edge research in related areas and work towards creating a global coalition of partners      to scale these efforts.
 
Speaking on this occasion, Prof. Madhu Veeraraghavan, Director of T A Pai Management Institute said, TAPMI is proud        and thankful to have been selected to be part of this global community of schools committed to transforming business education. TAPMI has always held ‘Holistic Concern for Ethics, Society and the Environment’ as a basic cornerstone for all activities. This recognition is inspirational and TAPMI will strive to foster the PRME Principles.
 
 
The event was organised by The United Nations Global Compact and Principles for Responsible Management Education (PRME) on the sidelines of the World Economic Forum, in co-operation with Corporate Knights to discuss gaps in today’s business and management education. Over 40 academic leaders and corporate executives — including deans from top business schools and Chief Executives from leading businesses gathered for the dinner.
